I know... But if you look at the test objectives hardware is a small portion, and what I meant is I only remember one pure hardware question. meaning that it would apply to a window's server as well as linux. there were question's about lspci, ifconfig, lvm, raid, and the like, but they weren't OS independant. for me personally I worry less about studying the hardware (save maybe SCSI) because I remember most of it from my Prep for A+, and Network+, both of which I am certified in. I've taken 4 CompTIA tests total. I still think the hardest part about linux+ is remembering option's for commands.

The questions you actually are presented with on the test are
selected in some randomized order from a larger set of possible
questions.
Just because you only saw one or two questions about the SCSI
interface doesn't mean there aren't more. Just means that's all you
saw on your test.
IIRC, the Red Hat install is fairly straight-forward. (Not sure why
they would
test on it, really...) Do they mention a specific version of Red Hat?
Their
free OS offerings became Fedora, which has changed substantially from
the Red
Hat of old. Kubuntu is really nothing like Red Hat at all in terms of
the
installation procedure and package management.

If you want to bring a RH or Fedora CD to a meeting, one of us
(including
myself) would be happy to walk you through the installation providing
you
have a copy of VMWare or a spare machine.
