I've been reading my way through the Ubuntu Server Guide for 10.04
and have found it interesting reading. Mostly.<br>
It's also sometimes confusing, but that's probably from lack of
knowledge on my part.<br>
<br>
Apache2 was installed as part of my upgrade / install of Ubuntu
10.04 on what will become my house server.<br>
So, now that Apache is installed, I'm in the process of learning
how to configure it.<br>
<br>
So here are some questions...<br>
It's my understanding that there are really only a few settings
(in "httpd.conf" I think) that are crucial to the setup. Is this
understanding accurate?<br>
What do you consider a reasonable set of configuration settings
for Apache? Why / why not?<br>
What do your selected configuration settings do?<br>
What other files, if any need to be modified? Why?<br>

It appears that I'll need to understand the whys and wherefores
of certificates to properly configure HTTPS on Apache. I knew there
was a conversation with Rick Houser in my future. I just didn't know
when<br>

I expect to use this particular installation of Apache to test
my website locally before I FTP the pages to the server that hosts my
website.<br>
As part of this testing process, I will be progressively
converting my website from hand-crafted HTML to Drupal. What if
anything changes because of the introduction of Drupal?<br>

I'm sure there will be more questions, but that seems like a
reasonable number for this evening.<br>
