Subject: Migrating to ABAQUS from Nastran

   Dear ABAQUS User,

Migrating to ABAQUS from NASTRAN

(free one-day seminar)

Modern engineering design analysis includes both nonlinear and linear
applications. ABAQUS has long been considered the tool of choice for
nonlinear problems, while NASTRAN has historically been used for
linear problems. Several factors are now motivating companies to
explore consolidation to fewer finite element software tools, ideally
being able to use a single tool for all structural analysis
   applications.

[adv_sem_chassis.gif] [shim.gif] Ongoing developments in ABAQUS now
enable it to be seriously considered for both nonlinear and linear
applications. This seminar discusses various issues that must be
addressed in this process, including recent enhancements in
ABAQUS/Standard (such as multiple load cases, inertia relief,
spotwelds, and nonstructural mass) that not only replicate but also
extend popular NASTRAN functionality, translation of legacy NASTRAN
bulkdata files, and other pre- and postprocessing issues.

Several industrial examples will be used to illustrate how ABAQUS can
be used to address what traditionally have been considered NASTRAN
applications, comparing and confirming analysis results and also
discussing how one can more fully leverage the wide range of
   capabilities provided in ABAQUS.

We look forward to seeing you soon!
