<http://cirtl.net/events> Mentoring through the Tough Stuff: Effective Mentoring of Graduate Students
Dissertations may seem daunting, but life’s really tough stuff is often outside of academia. How can you be the best mentor possible to your graduate students when they’re experiencing illness, the death of a loved one, or even just a crisis of confidence? Our seasoned mentors will provide real life examples of issues they’ve helped their mentees through, with advice on how you can be prepared for issues you’ll encounter in your mentoring career.

Presenters:
Rique Campa, Professor of Wildlife Ecology and Associate Dean of the Graduate School, Michigan State University

Anita Mahadevan-Jansen, Chair of Biomedical Engineering, Vanderbilt University
