FOS: Abtahian talk on language shift in Belize and Indonesia - tomorrow

FOS,

Just a reminder that this week's linguistics colloquium features a
sociolinguist, Maya Ravindranath Abtahian, and it's being held TOMORROW --
i.e. on a Friday and not on the usual Thursday. Dr Abtahian will report on
micro- and macro- approaches to studying language endangerment, pointing
out that it's not always languages with very few speakers that are
threatened. 'Big' languages with millions of speakers may also be subject
to language shift and language death.

The talk will be held in B-243 Wells Hall, 2:00-3:00 with coffee and
cookies to follow.
