LAB MEETINGS
Fridays, 2pm - 3:30pm in B-442 Wells Hall. This semester, we're holding
joint meetings with the linguistics graduate Phono Group (led by Professors
Yen-Hwei Lin and Karthik Durvasula), as we currently have many students
working on phonology/phonetics, sociolinguistics and/or their
intersections. Contact me (wagnersu) or Karthik (durvasul) with any
questions, or just come along. First meeting is Friday September 11th, when
we'll work out our program of events for the semester. This will be posted
on the MSU Sociolinguistics website - see below.

Wednesdays, 10am - 11:30am in B-411 Wells Hall. Meetings of the IHELP
project group. Contact me if you're interested in joining.

WEBSITE
The general site for all things sociolinguistic at MSU is:
http://sociolinguistics.linglang.msu.edu. (Points to our Weebly site). We
welcome your updates: faculty and student profiles, news items,
publications and presentations, outreach events. Contact me or Monica
Nesbitt (nesbit17) if you have contributions or questions. We're also
looking for a dedicated website/social media person to keep things up to
date and broaden our reach. This would be a good experience for an
undergraduate. No HTML skills required!

RESEARCH OPPORTUNITIES
For opportunities to volunteer with ongoing sociolinguistic research
projects, contact me.

VISITING SPEAKERS
The Linguistics Colloquium has invited two speakers of particular interest
to sociolinguists: Dr Anne Curzan (UMich) and Dr Maya Ravindranath Abtahian
(URochester). See: http://msulinguists.weebly.com/colloquium-and-events.html

NWAV 44
Here are the MSU presentations accepted to the NWAV 44 conference in
October: http://msusociolinguistics.weebly.com/nwav-44.html
To join the student van going to Toronto, contact Alexander Mason (masonal).
