Interested in language? Looking for a last-minute Summer I class? There are
still spaces available in LIN 200 Introduction to Language, which is being
offered on campus in Summer I (May 15 - June 30). The class meets 8:00 -
9:50 AM Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday in 105 Bessey.
You'll learn about language patterns in sentence structure, words, sounds
and meanings, as well as about child language acquisition, language change
and much more. There are lots of hands-on "problem sets" that will help you
work through new ideas and tools. It's a small, face-to-face course in
which you'll have lots of attention from the instructor.
If you're considering a minor in Linguistics, you just need this course,
plus one each of Intro to Phonetics/Phonology and Intro to Syntax, plus two
electives. Our electives include Language and Gender, Sociolinguistics,
Child Language Acquisition, Neurolinguistics, Intro to Semantics and
others. A Linguistics minor is a great addition to many majors, such as
languages, psychology, cognitive science, education, philosophy, computer
science, anthropology, sociology....

courses here: http://linglang.msu.edu/degree-programs/linguistics/

If you have questions about the course, please contact the faculty
supervisor, Dr Alan Munn: amunn at msu.edu.
