Good afternoon,
I hope everyone’s semester is getting off to a great start! MSU Digital
Humanities is ready for the year, and we have a few things to report and
share as the semester getting going.
The website at digitalhumanities.msu.edu has undergone a refresh - please
let us know if you have feedback. If you aren’t on the People page
<http://digitalhumanities.msu.edu/about/people/> of the site yet, just fill
out the form that’s linked at the top, and we’ll add you! If you’d like to
have your profile updated, send me an email with the updates, and I’ll get
it up asap.
A big welcome to Kathleen Fitzpatrick who is now here and getting settled
in as the Director of Digital Humanities in the College of Arts and Letters!
The Library and CAL are working to open a new Digital Scholarship Lab that
will be housed in the Main Library on 2West. It’s scheduled to open in
January and will include project group rooms, open flexible working space,
a workshop room, a Virtual Reality room, and more. There will be an
official press release coming out soon, but I wanted to let you know it’s
in the works.
We are very excited about a range of Digital Humanities activities and
programs going on this semester - here’s a very brief overview. You can
find details and the full schedule at digitalhumanities.msu.edu/events:
-
We have 6 workshops this semester! Each workshop is 90 minutes long and
is open to anyone - students, faculty, staff, from any discipline. All of
the workshops are introductory and do not build on each other, so feel
free
to come to any/all that interest you. All the workshops are from
3:00-4:30pm in the Main Library 3W Instruction Room.
