please join us this Friday, February first for Dr. Alex Mendes's job talk "Multi-lingual Corsica: The Linguistic Landscape of Rue Droite" in Wells B 342 from 3:30 to 4:30.
Dr. Alexander Mendes holds a PhD in French from the University of California, Davis. He is currently Assistant Professor of French at Emory University where he serves as a coordinator in the French language program, oversees graduate student teaching, and is also Core Faculty in Linguistics. He specializes on multilingual dynamics of the French Mediterranean, particularly language policy and politics affecting newly arrived (im)migrant populations, globalization and neoliberalism, and sociolinguistic justice.
