Dear DiPVaCers,
It is my pleasure to announce the opening of registration for this year's DiPVaC conference, to be held from 3-5 June at the University of Melbourne, Australia!

This page will also redirect you to the registration page, where early bird rates of AUD$180.00 (full) and AUD$100.00 (student) for the full three days are available until 1st April 2020. There are discounts for post docs/unemployed/accompanying dependents and the conference dinner is an affordable AUD$55.00 pp.
The conference has an exciting lineup of five plenary speakers and two workshops:
* Derek Denis (University of Toronto Mississauga, Canada): Discourse-pragmatic innovation in one of the world's most multicultural cities
* Janet Holmes (Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand): Doing leadership in style: the contribution of pragmatic particles in New Zealand workplace interaction
* Celeste Rodríguez Louro (The University of Western Australia): The soul of language: Discourse-pragmatic variation and change in urban Aboriginal English
* Lesley Stirling (The University of Melbourne, Australia) & Ilana Mushin (The University of Queensland, Australia): Be in the moment: attending to interactional context in analysing discourse-pragmatic variation
* Workshop by Alexandra D'Arcy (University of Victoria, Canada): The acquisition of discourse-pragmatic variation
* Workshop by Mirjam Eiswirth (winner of DiPVaC4 best student paper prize): Integrating interactional methods into our analysis of discourse-pragmatic variation
Early bird registration is now open until 1st April 2020. At least one author per accepted paper must register by the early bird deadline to ensure smooth running of the programme.
