netlink

Yes, I have tried the jacks located in the Library's "Cyber Cafe" and they
do seem to work well, I can't say however anything about any outside of the
"Cyber Cafe". It strikes me as odd that you wouldn't be able to get to
dhcp.cl.msu.edu. This would tend to make me think that something is still
wrong with the laptop's settings. Does the laptop actually pick up an
address? ( a real address that exists on msu's networks I mean.) I would
personally check that first.

Hope this is of some help.

Subject: netlink

Has anybody ever tried the MSU netlinks across campus? Specifically in the
main
library?

A classmate of mine wants her laptop hooked up there during her study
sessions.
Now she just bought the laptop. Got the card installed. We followed the
descriptions on the SNS website. We couldn't make it through to
dhcp.cl.msu.edu
to register.

How come the SNS site doesn't mention the Library as one of the Computer
Location choices? Does it matter what is filled in there?

The guy at the library wasn't even sure the netlink hook-ups are actually
"alive".

If anybody got any tips, love to hear them.
