Not that I mind if we cover it at a meeting or not but if anyone wants to
get a head start, and your using the x86 platform the README goes through
it step by step. Just make sure you know exactly what you have in your
system as far as hardware, you _will_ spend a lot of time reading the
help, but you will learn a lot too. 

The difference between the X86 installs and other platforms really isnt
the kernel compiling its actually installing the kernel. (who wants to
compile a kernel and not USE it?). For example Linux Sparc and Linux PPC
both use different bootloaders, because they both use open firmware.
(actually I think all modern systems use OF now). Its not hard, its just
different.
