I knew MOSFET transistors were used in Audio amps, but I never knew
why.  Apparently there are other types.

A snip from a Sereo Review Magazine Amp Review:

"B&K employs MOSFET output devices, which some buffs favor for their
tubelike electrical characteristics. They tend to idle a bit warmer than
conventional (bipolar) transistors, and indeed the B&K amp was always
warm to the touch."
