Morning,
four months ago I said I was going to transfer a domain from NSI to some other
registrar and report on how the process went.
I chose Dotster as future registrar because they seemed economic and reliable
and I hadn't heard any bad news about them and their online domain transfer
appeared solid.
I went to their website's domain transfer page, typed in the domain I wnated to
transfer, created a new dotster account, supplied them with the whois
information regarding the domain I wanted to transfer, credit card information
and submitted on December 21.
December 23 the owner of the domain was emailed and asked to visit a website,
submit a keycode there and acknowledge the requested transfer. I did so.
It's December 27 and the domain shows up in my dotster account to be managed
there and also is referenced in the dotster whois database.
There was 6 months left on the term registered for with NSI and those 6 months
did transfer as well.
Cost: 15 dollar 1 year registration and 10 dollar transfer fee
Couldn't have gone smoother....
