I say drop both topics and concentrate on getting more members by advertising
that GLLUG exists. I know it sounds silly but I brought my 12 inch Penguin into
work a few weeks ago and its overlooking the department. By now every one of my
120 colleagues should know I am Linux all the way. =) There is a few who got
interest and a few who run it. The minority is interested to proceed to
practice though and even less have interest or time to be in an organization.
Having not been to meetings lately I still say GLLUG is great and has helped me
a lot.

PS: SuSE for me but just because it's first one I tried and I struggled through
it until I now feel pretty good about it. I am urging to try debian when their
latest comes out. I then will rejudge........
