I'll let someone else get into detail on how the event went but I thought
it went pretty well. I tossed the idea towards Ben that we might have a
followup session sometime to help the people who already have linux
installed, something to help them out with some customization, maybe a
little bit of configuring, help with package management/upgrading, and
perhaps customizing kernels. Wouldn't have to go as far as kernels but
some people could probably use a bunch of pointers on how to do specific
stuff like where to get into the configuration and installation of things
that werent already done, like perhaps nics (I dont think anyone actually
setup networking in the installfest) and simple networking. Maybe even
giving direction towards things like ip_masq and samba. In some ways it
wouldnt have to be as intrusive as the installfest because we ended up
with some people adding/changing hardware and even one computer get half
replaced before we actually got to installing. If everyone came with
something already installed, we wouldnt have to worry as much about if
linux would even install, because it already is. Feedback?
