Ok, found the web site under MSU "Surplus Store".  I guess 
that sounds nicer than "Salvage".  :)

MSU departmental sales, 7:30 to 3:30 Monday through Friday
Public viewing, 7:30 to 3:30 Monday through Friday
Public sales, 7:30 to 3:30 Tuesday, Friday and the first Saturday of the
month (excluding University Holidays) from 8:00 am to 12:00 noon.
