Hylafax / modem config

I am attempting to setup Hylafax.  I am using the 'cu' utilities along with the
Hylafax binaries.  I have a USR 56K faxmodem on com1 and com2.

I run the following;
minicom on ttyS0 and get the modem to dial

cu -l ttyS0
Connected
at+fclass=?
0,1,2,2.0
OK
~[glc].
Disconnected

I have used faxsetup and faxaddmodem to setup the modem.


Now when I try to use faxmodem;
/usr/local/sbin/faxmodem ttyS0
FIFO: open: No such device or address

suggestions?  I also need to toggle echo on for ttyS0 for ttyS1, echo is on.
