Hmm... meeting idea

As I was sitting here thinking, "My, I wish I had some good software
that didn't suck." So I decided that might be a good improvised
topic for our next meeting, have everyone think of their favorite
piece of software or two and spend 2-3 minutes describing the things
you like about it, then another 2-3 minutes answering questions
from other members. We can have Pfaffben talk about Emacs, Marcel
talk about SuSE, Ed talk about FreeBSD.... ;) Heheh, just kidding...
=) Anyways, I have a few I'd like to talk about (my favorite text
editor, a file browser, web browser, etc. [1]) and I'm interested
to hear what everyone else really likes in the Linux world. The
preference is for "good" software, i.e. stuff that's stable and
well-behaved, something you'd feel safe running in a production
environment. It need not be a mainstream app, it could be something
like "Bob's Manure-as-fertilizer pounds-per-acre calculator" or
"Pete's Polymorphing Perl Polygraph Programmer" or even "Gork's
Evil Overlord Diary", as long as it's not something like "Poseidon's
Wrath version -0.00000003 pre-alpha beta gamma lamda lamda lamda".
So put some thought into your favorite Linux apps, and if we don't
do it at this meeting (i.e. we come up with another topic) we can
do it at another one.

[1] Isn't the anticipation killin' ya'? ;)
