Do you have the encrypted passwords option enabled in smb.conf?  This is
required for later versions of win95 and all that followed.  IIRC the
original release of win95 didn't require encrypted passwords (nor did win3x)
and I'm not sure where win95a falls in that mix.  I know that win95b _does_.
We have found that if you enable encrypted passwords it will allow anything
that requires them to work fine without breaking anything that doesn't.  We
have win95b/98 clients working alongside wfw311 clients from the same samba
server with no problems.
