PDF Creator/Shared Printer

weird.  yes, it appears to expand properly, but when fed input from command line
redirect, it doesnt like it..

/usr/bin/ps2pdf - /home/samba/pdf_output/`date +%Y.%m.%m`.$$.pdf <
pdf_output/offlineform.ps
%%[ Page: 1 ]%%
%%[ LastPage ]%%
%%[ Error: undefinedfilename; OffendingCommand:
/home/samba/pdf_output/2000.09.09.1004.pdf ]%%

and i'll get output with
[jason@poleposition samba]# ls -l
-rw-rw-r--   1 jason    jason         6740 Sep 28 12:28 2000.09.09.1004.pdf.pdf

maybe ps2pdf doesnt play nicely?
