Try avifile, it comes with a player aviplay.  I use it on my computer and
it is very smooth with my G200 and xfree 4 with Xv extensions so aviplay
can render things more directly.  I had to enable some matrox video memory
overclocking setting to get the Xv extensions to play smoothly but it uses
much less cpu than it did in xfree 3.
