OK, the company I work for is looking for a sysadmin-type person.  This might
start off as a half-time position, segueing into full-time as we get more
machines in production.  If anyone is interested, here are the specs:

Position:  Systems Administrator
Reports to: CHief of Engineering and Prepress Manager
Salary:  To Be Determined
Dress Code:  shoes, shirt, pants required.  suit/tie unnecessary.
Hours:  reasonably flexible.

Requirements:
Understand+Install Linux, MacOS 9.x, WinNT/2K
Knowledge of switches, routers, TCP/IP
Install workstation/server hardware and software, train users
Administration of:
   sendmail and ftpd
   user accounts (shell, mail, and FTP)
   dial-up connectivity with mgetty
   Samba and Appletalk (both netatalk and standard MacOS)
   tape-monkey work for backup and production
   firewall maintenance (ipchains at the moment)
   use ethereal/tcpdump/Etherpeek for finding network problems
Scripting (bash and perl) to create automated processes for a variety of
things
Management of daily automated tasks on both Linux/NT platforms
Respond to design problems and alert developers to things that need to be
fixed
Document admin procedures

MacOS experience is helpful but not completely essential--if you can USE MacOS
9.x at a competent level, you should be OK.  Our main Linux machine is on a
DEC Alpha at the moment, so Alpha experience would be a definite plus.

<plug> This is a pretty good place to work--most of the dev team and a fair
number of the management have at least a partial Clue.  The production staff
are graphics/MacOS people and know enough to not mess with the back end.  Work
hours are flexible as long as you get the job done. </plug>
