check your ipchains / iptables rules. also make sure that in your dns records you have localhost.yourdomain.xxx mapped to 127.0.0.1.

Like I said, I'm not having a problem with the majority of sites.  I'm
sending mail through it now (this message).  I can telnet to port 25 of the
sites from BEHIND the firewall (which is the same machine as the mail
server) but not from the firewall/mail-server machine.
