I would agree with that assessment.  I'd go back to your httpd.conf file
and verify that you have `Listen 443` prior to the VirtualHost directive
for your SSL site.

Hmm...I see a *.http but no https....doesn't look like its listening 
for the connectiong on 443...but I could be reading this wrong.  As far 
as the firewall goes, there isn't one to speak of.
