[GLLUG] Photo album software

I did a brief search of web-based photo album software on SourceForge and
Freshmeat, and I found a few promising packages (Gallery, Zoph, yappa-ng, some
others), but before I get too far into it, I was wondering if anyone had
suggestions or recommendations.  Basically what I'm looking for is something
that will be able to handle a few thousand pictures, can store captions in a SQL
database, automatic thumbnail support, accounts would be good (so other people
can add captions to their own pictures, since this is going to be used by a
group of people), etc.
