[GLLUG] using sed

Hello I am having a little trouble with sed editing a
file from a bash script I dont know if anyone knows
how sed works and if my syntax is right or what but
when this happens sed -e 's/GLcore/glx/g'
/etc/X11/XF86Config-4 > /etc/X11/XF86Config-4 it wont
output the file. so if there is a better way to edit
or any help would be great
