[GLLUG] I want to mount a W2K folder using the mount command without using g NTLM

Matt,

Which version of Samba are you using? It's my understanding that you must have Samba 3.0 as well as MIT Kerberos and OpenLDAP in order for Kerberos authentication to work with AD. Since Samba 3.0 is still pre-release (currently RC4), it may not be included with your current distribution.

Subject: [GLLUG] I want to mount a W2K folder using the mount
commandwithout usin g NTLM

I am running Samba 3.0 on Redhat 9. I installed Samba from an rpm. I am
able to authenticate to my native mode Windows 2000 domain controller using
Kerberos, after which I can use the smbclient command with the -k parameter
to attach to a share. Also, using the following command I can mount a
Windows share:
	mount -t smbfs -o username=MyUser, password=mypassword
//server1/share1 /MyWinShare

I would prefer to mount //server1/share1 using Kerberos credentials, which
the aforementioned command does not.

I tried this command to no avail
	mount -t smbfs -o krb //server1/share1 /MyWinShare

This last command output the following "Warning: kerberos support will only
work for samba servers". This sounds to me like the smbmount command will
not connect using Kerberos. I would like to use Kerberos as opposed to
NTLM.  Any suggestions?
