I've got a bit of a conundrum with Poptop. It works really well as long as I don't care about encryption, however I cannnot get link encryption to work. Auth encryption works fine. System is RedHat 8. Initially, PPTPD complained that ppp-compress-21 couldn't be loaded. Some poking about revealed that modules.conf contains a line reading "alias ppp-compress-21 bsd_comp". BSD_COMP isn't compiled on RH 8 during install. So I configured and compiled modules, and grabbed the bsd_comp module. Insmod complains that the module is created for the wrong kernel (custom) but will still insert with the -f flag.

Now my PPTPD debug log no longer complains. About ANYTHING. My windows box still bails out after complaining that the remote server doesn't support encryption.

Any ideas? Has anybody even successfully installed Poptop?

Thanks!
Gary
