I am fairly certain that you need to provide some
information about how you have configured the printer.
CUPS can provide networking via IPIPPnd SAMBA can
provide networking via SMSMBAlthough I know this, I
cannot help you solve your issue, but rather I am
interested in the solution because I have a similar
problem.
I think your issue is more likely user permissions or
IDs rather than ports, because in Windows all ports
are open by default. That changes depending on your
having, or not having, a hardware or software firewall
or router. If you do have a hardware firewall you
should provide details about that. If you have
something like Zone Alarm running, you should allow
the LAN (assuming 192.168.x.x) to pass through the
lock as 192.168 addresses cannot be forwarded or
passed to the Internet anyway. For troubleshooting
purposes you could temporarily disable ZAZAnd retest
the printing.
