[GLLUG] OT: Suggestions for High Speed Internet in Stockbridge

Yeah, that was one of the suggestions I had made already. I guess this guy
called them and they said he could probably get faster satellite connection
with earthlink but then he was put off by the cost of the system throught
earthlink.
I was checking out the www.direcway.com website, but all their stuff is 'fluffy
fuzzballs' whipped up for the uneducated masses. Does anyone know of a good
resource for the 'actual' benchmark speeds, up and down, of the typical
DirecWay satellite system?
Also, I have been eyeballing a gizmo from another company for a while, and I
looked it up as well as this guy also does a lot of remote site work with a
laptop. We were discussiong the speed differences between the old 9.6k
TDMA/CDMA cell phone world vs. the newer GSM/GPRS (128k?) systems, when I
thought of this site I had seen - but it appears they haven't updated their
site since I last looked at it and I was wondering if anyone might be familiar
with it?
