[GLLUG] PCMCIA Power?

I'm working on my girlfriend's laptop, She uses Mandrake Linux (10.0 
Official), but the PCMCIA bus seems to do wierd things.  A wireless card 
worked fine under windows (2 lights when in the PCMCIA bus), but under 
linux the 2 lights dont come on.  The Mandrake control panel sees the 
card, and gets a bit of info about it, but the lights dont come on.  
Another card (Firewire PCMCIA) doesn't supply power to devices plugged 
into the firewire ports.  I'm not sure the 2 instances are tied 
together, as the firewire card wasn't tested on another OS.  Am I 
missing an easy command to send power to the PCMCIA card?  lsmod lists 
pcmcia_core, ds, and yenta_socket as loaded...

Anyone?
