You've hit upon something good with the vi/emacs thing there James,
but why not just go all the way and make it a true test... The Editor
Gauntlet!  Line up all the emacs users on one side of the room, all
the vi users on the other.  At one end of the open space put the
t-shirt, and at the other put the contestants.  The event starts when
you shout "Your text editor sucks!" and whoever gets through the
ensuing brawl to the t-shirt first gets to keep it. =)
