"Great to hear it went well! Wish I could have gone - maybe next year.
How did the Ubuntu CD's and the burning machine hold up?"
Fantastic! I was increadibly surprised how much use the burning
machine got used. Ubuntu CD's started moving, and we suprisingly were
out of Apple discs by saturday evening. Luckily, we happened to find
that we had a second box of discs. After Stan went to the Ubuntu panel
he came back quickly holding the newest release, eager to upload it.
Many discs were taken.
On Clay's note, I would like to thank and applaud everyone who worked
the lounge as well, especially the forenoted Chick and Reb. I think
that we all did a great job; as true hackers we faced challenges
(Chaos Machine, Tables, internet, and general Geek funk) and overcame
them ^_^ I think we had great success, meeting a demand that made
itself quite clear by the second night, when people turned out in full
swing. A few root terminals were left open, and we were lucky to have
everything stay up. Collective willpower?
I think it was a great experience to be able to hang out with everyone
from the GLLUG for a weekend. It was a time I really found to be great
and enjoyable. I thought it was a great vacation from my home/work
life, and am happy to have met all of you who attended on a further
level. I only wish that I hadn't missed Chick's speech. Maybe next
con?
