Yes, we should try to stick to the newest versions of distros where
possible.

The advantage to the livecd, however, is that we can show new users what
Ubuntu/Kubuntu is all about without installing it. Give them a quick
tour of the OS including web browsers and the office suite, etc. Also,
its usually a good test to see if the hardware is going to run the OS
without any problems. If they like what they see, just fire up the
installer and go.
