well if TI has something to do with it I don't completely agree.

example yes the TI-83 plus is better than the TI-83. but my 7 year old
TI-89 still has more functions than a brand new TI-83 plus. so
version-ing matters. and memtest86 is at version 3 or something where
+ is at 1.65.
