[GLLUG] Gentoo

Hey Jeremy,

I would say it is a personal preference. Gentoo is a nice distro, but
I've also used Ubuntu and found that to be a good one as well
(certainly the talk of the town these days).

Mostly though I use the BSD's (OpenBSD on the fringe and
{Free,DragonFly}BSD for everything else. I really don't think you'll
find any benefits using Gentoo over any of them. Some would say the
package system, however as nice as Portage is, in my experience it
hasn't been as stable as *BSD's ports systems or DFBSD's pkgsrc
(pkgsrc actually works on just about every BSD variant available).

Overall, if you like what you are using, stick with it. The benefits
don't outweigh the familiarity you already have and the installed
systems that you'll have to reinstall.

My $0.02.

Take care, I hope that helps.
