Agenda: Cross-Platform Backup Strategies

Common wisdom and age-old anecdotes collectively state that regular
backups of your most valuable data are a completely useless waste of
time. But only as long as you actually *have* regular backups. If you
don't, you'll one day lose that 2,000-page dissertation on the quantum
behavior of pocket lint mere days before the due date and wonder why on
earth you didn't bother making regular backups like everyone says you
should. In this week's presentation, Jeff Lawton will discuss various
backup methods and demonstrate a high-performance, enterprise-grade
backup system for backing up data from any OS onto a remote server with
features such as clever pooling of identical files, no client-side
software, and a powerful Apache/CGI user interface.

Please take a moment to RSVP if you plan to attend this meeting so
that we can get a general idea of how many will show up. Just reply to
this message (with the GLLUG list address in the "To:" field)
indicating your desire to attend and/or change the message Subject to
"RSVP". Thanks!
