Another weekly GLLUG meeting is scheduled to be held at the Gone Wired
cybercafe in Lansing at 6:00PM. Gone Wired is at 2021 E Michigan Ave
in Lansing on the north side of the street between N Clemens and
Fairview avenues. Here is a map with the (approximate) location:

We typically meet in the back portion of the cafe on the lower level.

Agenda: Open Discussion: Can Open Source be Trusted?

Most of us recognize the problems of viruses and spyware associated with
popular closed source operating systems. Even if these issues aren't
currently a problem for open source software, is there any potential
that they could be in the future? Is the open source development and
distribution model an asset, liability, or both in terms of security and
trustworthiness? Obviously we in the GLLUG tend to be open source
advocates and may be somewhat biased, but this is an excellent
opportunity to frankly discuss these issues and hopefully identify a few
solid reasons why open source software can be trusted and whether or not
there is room for improvement.

Please take a moment to RSVP if you plan to attend this meeting so
that we can get a general idea of how many will show up. Just reply to
this message (with the GLLUG list address in the "To:" field)
indicating your desire to attend and/or change the message Subject to
"RSVP". Thanks!
