 Dear Caleb,

Michigan is the front line of the fight for Internet freedom. AT&T lobbyists
are swarming the State Capitol to push through a bill in Michigan's
lame-duck state Senate session that would strip away Net Neutrality
protections and let AT&T control what we see and do online.

They're trying to ram this bill through next week before the outgoing
Republican Senate turns over control to the new Democratic majority that
Michigan voters chose on Nov. 7.

Before Michigan state legislators vote on this bad bill, let's make sure
that they hear loud and clear from the people across the state: Don't Sell
Out the Internet to AT&T. Protect Net Neutrality!

Next Tuesday, November 28, at noon join the SavetheInternet.com Coalition
and others at the State Capitol in Lansing for a rally to protect Internet
freedom.

WHAT: Rally to protect Internet freedom
WHEN: Next Tuesday -- November 28 -- 12 p.m. - 1 p.m.
WHERE: Capitol Building in Lansing, 1st Floor Rotunda
WHO: Free Press, MoveOn.org Civic Action and the
SavetheInternet.comCoalition -- media will be in attendance

Join the rally by RSVPing here<http://action.freepress.net/ct/S7er3Xn1pPCU/>

We've just beat back AT&T and its allies in Congress. But these powerful
corporations haven't stopped their efforts to kill Net Neutrality. They are
now determined to take away Internet freedom at the state level -- starting
in Michigan. And if they win in Michigan, it will have severe repercussions
for our work in Washington.

The "Michigan Video Franchising Bill" (HB 6456) was written by phone
company lobbyists. AT&T tells legislators and the public that it will expand
access to the Internet. What they don't reveal is that unless Net Neutrality
protections are added, these corporations will be able to abuse their role
as gatekeepers to the Internet -- deciding which Web sites open quickly on
your computer. This is also simply a bad bill for broadband deployment
bringing competition to just the wealthiest communities and gutting consumer
protections for all.

Coming to the Lansing rally will send a loud message to your legislators and
the media that Michigan residents want to keep the Internet free and open.
You can do more by visiting
SavetheInternet.com<http://action.freepress.net/ct/Sper3Xn1pPCy/>and
contacting your state senator:

Internet in Michigan <http://action.freepress.net/ct/L1er3Xn1pPCh/>

With your help, we stood up to the phone and cable companies in Washington.
It's now time to save the Internet in your home state.

Onward,

Timothy Karr
