[GLLUG] peguicon - info?

I didn't end up going to this year's event, although I wanted to.  I have, in fact, never been to a con of any sort (other than comdex in toronto.)

I am curious how you guys work this. . . I KNOW I couldn't have afforded to go this year, as we are broke, but in looking to next year - what is the cost of the trip?  Do you guys car pool or rent a van to haul all the equipment in?  How about hotel cost?  Entry cost into the event?  Do you have to pay if you are working a booth?

Again, I haven't been able to make it to any meetings either - my wife and I share a car and she has school on Thursday nights (plus my 13 year old son can't be left at home alone (don't ask.))  

According to my wife, it is healthy for me to try to make some friends so I really WANT to come to a meeting.  I grew up in the Lansing area but moved away and when I came back 2 years ago, everyone I knew was gone (basically.)  It's hard having the only person you are friends with be your wife.  She figures I must be able to find someone I get along with amongst a group of geeks ;]

Maybe I can make it to a meeting in a few weeks once her class is over.

A thought for penguicon - did you guys show off cross-over office or Xandros?  I haven't used either but from what I've read they are a big push towards getting people off the windows hook.  I read cross-over office even allows you to run quicken and quickbooks.
