[GLLUG] Internal/External Private Messangers?

Hey guys,

At my old job we used this software called e/pop I believe which was an internal messanger (ran on a windows server with windows clients.)  At my current job then install Akeni Expert Messanger YEARS ago with a linux server and windows clients.

I was going to reinstall it because they like it but the company only supports RH9 or Suse.  The servers I have here are a Debian box and also an FC6 box.  I thought it might run on the FC6 box but no such luck.

Anyone have any suggestions?  It would be nice to have something like this so that employees can't message their friends, etc and waste time.  I thought jabber might be an option but am not sure where to begin with that.

Anyone with any experience please contact me.
