I might swing by on occasion if these meetings happened to be on a
Friday. I've been heading to Flint about every other weekend on
average. I'd definitely be willing to help launch the group for a
meeting or two if I was able to attend (any night of the week). I
definitely wouldn't be coming every week, however (I live on the west
side of Lansing).

The email address for the Kettering list should be kluug at kettering.edu.
The mailing list registration page is at
https://spoke.kettering.edu/mailman/listinfo/kluug.
I'm not trying to discourage Flushing in any way, but the two
neighboring universities (~4min apart from each other -- plus Mott
College isn't that much farther) could help build a user base and could
definitely make locating facilities easier. Kettering already offers
fast Wifi access to their students and vendors that come in for
conferences, etc. If you were to get a Flint group going with any
reasonable percentage of Kettering community membership, you could
probably get a posting to all the CS/CE/EE majors and free facilities if
you were to ask nicely.
