[GLLUG] Any thoughts on HomePlug AV?

Hi,

Just wondering if anyone here is familiar with, or has yet had experience with the HomePlug AV standard? I know that technology to convert your powerlines to an ethernet network has been around for years; However, if HomePlug AV is even half as good as its 200 MBPS claims would seem to imply, then I think it's definitely an option worth considering. I live in an apartment where 802.11G barely works. Sure, 802.11N is just around the corner, but how nice would it be to be able to do things like PXE boot from anywhere in the house, or install a linux distro, and have immediate Ethernet connectivity from any room?
Anyway, this is something I'm seriously considering, but was just curious as to whether anyone else has jumped in yet. More info can be found here:
