[GLLUG] No Ekiga Users?

I would trust the rest of the world more than a small user group on a
peninsula.

Anyways, add an IRC account to gaim; irc.freenode.net is the typical
server for open source stuff. A window for the server will open; you
don't necessarily need a password unless a room ("channel") tells you
you do. common commands from the chat window:

/join #<channel>
/exit
/me

#ekiga only has three people in it, I would try to see if they have a
different room listed on the website.

Otherwise, look at their forums for someone to do it with.
