Dear Teresa,
Your name was given to me as someone who might know who at MSU is
interested in finding out about free software. I'm a member of the
Greater Lansing Linux User Group (GLLUG) and we're looking to do
something with an audience who might find free software useful for
Software Freedom Day, which is September 20th. Last year we gave
presentations and tried to publicize them, but we didn't get many
attendees. This year we'd like to find a group of people already
interested in or researching free software and do something that appeals
to them, whether that's provide information, perform demonstrations,
help with software installation, or whatever else might be productive.
I thought likely groups of people might be faculty and students at high
schools, entire school districts, or faculty and students at MSU or some
of its colleges. If you know of any such group, would you be willing to
direct us to them so we can determine if they have any interest? We
would like to make our Software Freedom Day event a lot more successful
than it was last year, even if success is measured only by the number of
people who attend.
Also, if you know of individuals who might be interested, feel free to
direct them to our group. We have meetings every Thursday night, and
our website is at http://www.gllug.org.

Chick Tower
