Thanks for the link, Charles.  Here's one I've been consulting in my 
shopping on eBay

According to the first page, Bill, there is a difference between NetGear 
WG511's made in China and Taiwan, for version 2.  The former is 
incompatible with Linux, while the latter is compatible.

Thanks for the advice, everyone.  As Karl said, there really isn't much 
difference in price between used 802.11 b and g cards, so I'll focus on 
the latter.
