[GLLUG] Best local place for custom built computers?

My daughter bought a system from them some years ago. At about 10 months it
started to act up pretty severely and Digilink talked them into all kinds of
useless fixes such as a surge suppressor. When the one year "warrantee"
expired they told them that the motherboard was dying and offered to replace
it, for parts. Oh, and plus labor. It seems that the particular motherboard
was rather famous for its defective power caps. I replaced the motherboard
myself with one I bought from another store. I have no love for Digilink.

The manufacturer of the motherboard offered to replace the board for free
but Digilink would have to ship it. Digilink refused. The motherboard still
sits on a shelf in my bookcase to remind me never to do business with them
again.

I've been happy with the machines that I bought from Digilink. They
aren't necessarily the most reasonable, but they are professional and
they are easy to work with.

For good prices I've found I/O Software in Flint to be very hard to beat
if you can pay cash. I've never bought a full machine there, but their
components are extremely inexpensive. Professional isn't exactly the
word I would use though. Getting the owner to stop playing his online
poker game while he rang my order up was something of a challenge.
