[GLLUG] MythTV specs

I've run MythTV for a few years, and it's a great system!

I'm currently running MythDora, which is a couple Myth releases old.
It's a good distro, but if I was to start over, I'd give Mythbuntu a
try, mainly because I've switched my desktop to Ubuntu. I've read
many good things about Mythbuntu and Mythdora both, so I'd decide
based on if I was more familiar with a RPM or a DEB based system.

As far as hardware, mine is old and no longer available, so the specs
won't help you. One thing I highly recommend is to get a hardware
based encoder. I started out cheap with a software encoder, and it
was a pain. The upgrade to a hardware encoder made a world of
difference (I'm running two PVR-250's). I'm not sure about HD
encoders since I only have standard def encoders in mine. I've also
had good luck with nVidia video cards for the TV, but then again, I'm
only outputting SD, not HD.
