[GLLUG] Chickens!

Chickens go to the slaughterhouse next week (and the week after).   
These are the same chickens that I cooked over at Stan's house.  Price  
is $2.10/lbs and bird sizes range from 4-7lbs.  Anybody wants birds,  
drop me a note privately or call me at 810-869-4390.

You'll have to pick them up in Saint Johns, unless you make  
arrangements for me to deliver them to you at GLLUG on Thursday night.  
  Birds come packaged for the freezer, double-wrapped in plastic.

These birds are pastured birds, which means they live in a large pen  
that is moved to a new place in the field every day.  They are fed an  
anti-biotic free, hormone-free high protein diet (very different from  
birds at the store).  Their lifestyle also causes them to get more  
exercise, and to incorporate insects into their diet.  This makes for  
a more richly flavored meat.  I'm told that people with health issues  
also prefer these pastured birds, but I don't have any real knowledge  
about that.  I mostly know that they taste really good.
